Service Agreement & Moving Terms

1. Parties & Scope

This Service Agreement is between Interstate Mobile Home Movers (“we,” “us,” “the Company”) and the customer named on the written quote (“you,” “the Customer”). It governs the transport, and where included, the setup and leveling of the manufactured, modular, or mobile home described in your quote. The specific scope, price, and dates are set out in your written quote, which forms part of this Agreement.

2. Estimates & Final Price

Your written quote is based on the information you provide and the conditions expected at pickup and delivery. The final price may change if actual conditions differ — for example, additional permits, escort requirements, site access problems, blocking, or changes you request. We will communicate any material change before performing additional work where reasonably possible.

3. Customer Responsibilities

Before the scheduled move, you are responsible for:

  • Ensuring the home is ready to move, including disconnection of utilities (water, power, gas, sewer) by qualified parties.
  • Removing or securing loose items, skirting, attached structures, and contents unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.
  • Providing accurate information about the home’s dimensions, weight, and condition.
  • Confirming legal authority to move the home and that all taxes, liens, or park obligations are satisfied.
  • Ensuring reasonable site access at both pickup and delivery.

4. Permits & Regulations

Where included in your quote, we coordinate transport permits and escorts. You remain responsible for confirming that the destination site is legal and permitted for placement of the home and that any local setup, foundation, or occupancy requirements are met.

5. Condition of the Home

Older and previously sited homes carry inherent risk during transport. You acknowledge that moving a home may reveal or worsen pre-existing conditions such as frame fatigue, wall or ceiling cracking, or separation, and that such pre-existing or inherent-condition issues are not caused by us. We will handle your home with established safety procedures and care.

6. Scheduling, Weather & Delays

Move dates are targets, not guarantees. Weather, road and permit restrictions, mechanical issues, and unsafe conditions can require rescheduling. We are not liable for incidental or consequential costs arising from delays outside our reasonable control.

7. Payment

A deposit is due at booking to reserve your date. The remaining balance is due [on completion / per the schedule in your quote]. Cancellations and refunds are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

8. Insurance & Claims

Coverage and the process for reporting damage are described in our Insurance & Claims Policy, which forms part of this Agreement. Any claim must be reported within the timeframe stated there.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of the services is limited as set out in your quote and our Insurance & Claims Policy. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

10. Governing Law & Disputes

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. The parties will attempt to resolve disputes in good faith before pursuing other remedies. [Add dispute-resolution / venue / arbitration terms here as advised by your attorney.]

11. Entire Agreement

This Agreement, together with your written quote and the policies referenced above, is the entire agreement between the parties and supersedes prior discussions. Changes must be in writing.
